Company History / In the beginning

Mobile Fringe opened its doors in 2009 as a smartphone app development company. The initial business model consisted of a consulting company that could design, build and support native iOS, Android, Windows and BlackBerry apps. At the time, our clients included Rogers, Puma, Meile, and many more.
One of the most notable apps that Mobile Fringe developed was for a shopping centre, Toronto Eaton Centre. The app was featured in an iPhone commercial in 2009, which initiated a new wave of shopping centre customers for Mobile Fringe.

With the success and momentum of the Toronto Eaton Centre app, we quickly discovered that many other shopping centres wanted similar tools for their shoppers. Our next wave of clients included properties like Yorkdale, Dufferin Mall and Northpark in Dallas.
Then began the focus on shopping centres and the creation of Mall Maverick, a one-stop-shop for mall marketers.

Our clients began to rely on us for all of their software needs including apps, websites, newsletter and interactive mapping solutions, digital directory software and more… 
As we continued to build more unique software for an increasing number of clients, we found ourselves being challenged to develop and support these solutions fast enough for our growing client roster.
In response to these challenges, in 2015 we developed CodeCloud. A separate and distinct platform that allows web developers to easily create, support and duplicate websites. 
Even now, years after its inception, CodeCloud is an extremely valuable and innovative platform that our team uses on a regular basis. 


Mall Maverick 2
In 2019, the Mall Maverick team began working with one of the most prestigious shopping centre portfolios in the world…Taubman. With over 15 premier shopping centres across North America, our product focus on portfolio management became paramount. 
In order to meet and exceed the requirements for Taubman, upgrade our existing clients and entice more shopping centres to come on board, we decided to build the best CMS in the industry, Mall Maverick 2. 
At its core, Mall Maverick 2 is a custom built CMS that drives and delivers content to all of a shopping centres digital channels. Specifically designed for speed, quality and seamless portfolio management, our shopping centre customers are able to manage more properties with less staff at a fraction of the cost of traditional platforms.


With over a decade of persistent refinement and development, Mall Maverick has become the gold standard in shopping centre marketing and continues to innovate in the space as our client list grows across Canada and the United States.
